1. Who we are

LumiClip ("LumiClip", "we", "us") provides an AI video clipping platform that turns long-form videos into short vertical clips. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you use our website, web app, and APIs (together, the "Services"), how we use it, and the choices you have.

By using the Services you confirm you've read this policy. If you do not agree, please stop using the Services.

2. What we collect

• Account data. Name, email address, and a password hash when you register.
• Uploaded content. Videos, audio, images, and transcripts you import or generate through the Services.
• Usage data. Pages visited, features used, referrer, and event timestamps — so we can improve the product.
• Device data. IP address, approximate location, user-agent, operating system, and cookie identifiers.
• Billing data. Plan, invoices, and partial card details. Full card numbers are handled only by our payment processor (Stripe) and never touch our servers.

3. How we use your data

• Run the clipping pipeline on the videos you submit.
• Keep you signed in and recover your account when needed.
• Measure feature usage so we can prioritise what to build next.
• Send transactional emails (receipts, password resets, security alerts).
• Detect abuse, fraud, and safety issues.
• Comply with our legal obligations.

We do not use your uploaded videos to train foundation models. Your footage is processed only to produce your clips.

4. Who we share it with

• Infrastructure providers (cloud hosting and object storage) that run our pipeline.
• Stripe for payment processing.
• Privacy-preserving analytics to understand aggregate product usage.
• Authorities only when we are legally required to do so.

We never sell personal data.

5. Retention

Source uploads and generated clips are retained while your account is active and for 30 days after project deletion, then permanently removed from primary storage. Backups roll off within 60 days.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct it if it's inaccurate.
• Export it in a machine-readable format.
• Delete your account and associated data.
• Object to certain processing, including marketing.

7. Cookies

We use a small set of cookies to keep you logged in and to measure aggregate usage. You can disable non-essential cookies through your browser settings; some features (like staying signed in) won't work without essential cookies.

8. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to production systems is limited to on-call engineers and audited. No system is perfectly secure, and we'll notify you promptly if an incident affects your data.

9. Children

The Services are not directed to children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we'll delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and — when the change is significant — notify you by email before it takes effect.
